August 5, 2010 -- A number of towns are moving ahead in creating Incentive Housing Zones under Connecticut's Housing Program for Economic Growth (known as the "HOMEConnecticut Program"). In addition to the six towns that have submitted Incentive Housing Zone plans to OPM for approval, another six are preparing zones and additional 37 towns are in various stages of the planning process. July 6, 2010 - May data from the Warren Group shows that home sales jumped by nearly 40% in May of 2010 when compared to May 2009, but median sales prices for remained nearly the same at $240,000. For the year-to-date, sales increased by 33% when compared to last year, with the May year-to-date median sales price up 4.8% to $239,000. Read more. .............................. |

June 28, 2010 – The federal government announced last week that $175 million in funding is now available for local and regional planning efforts. To address local planning efforts, HUD will make $40 million in funds available through its Community Challenge Planning Grant Program and an additional $35 million will be available through DOT’s Tiger II Planning Grant Program. June 21, 2010 - Median sales prices and the volume of home sales in Connecticut continued to rise throughout much of the state, according to the Warren Group's April data. Year-to-date median sales price rose for the state to $236,000, a 6% increase from April of last year. Year-to-date median sales prices rose in most counties, with Middlesex, Tolland and Windham posting declines. .............................. |
